i LOVE date night

Tonight a few of our friends went to BJ's Brewhouse for dinner. They have really good pizookies and their food is good too. We had a good time and had good company. Unfortunately though, Melissa and Dougie couldn't go with us bowling afterwards because Melissa was sick. So after we all left the restaurant, Sydni and Brad met us at Sunset Station (where Andrew and I first met) and we played two games of bowling.

The first game we played wacky bowling where each frame (I think that's what it's called) you had to do something different. For example: granny bowl, backwards bowl, and spinning before bowling. It was way fun and I'm glad Brad and Sydni were up for the challenge.

The second game we played normally and Sydni not only won that game but won overall too! Andrew and I need to brush up on our skills for next time, haha.

I didn't take any pictures at dinner, but here are both couples at the bowling alley:

Brad and Sydni

Andrew and I, back where it all began.

I love date night and am glad this was such a success.

Have you gone on any fun dates lately?

15 Things You Should Know About Me

Just for fun, here is a list of FIFTEEN fun ( and some random) facts about me:

1. I always dreamed of falling in love and getting married at a pretty young age, but never expected it to actually happen. After meeting Andrew, I KNEW he was the love of my life and that we were going to be together forever. Each day I think about how lucky I am to be in love with such an amazing man.

2. For awhile (after gaining weight) I started to not really take time to get ready each day. I think I was just so frustrated that nothing fit right that I felt I couldn't look good in anything. However, thanks to my amazing husband and daddy and their words of inspiration, I recently got back in the habit of dressing up each day and making myself look presentable. Just because you gain weight, doesn't mean you are no longer beautiful. I guess it just took a few people telling me that to get it in my head. Because of this, I remember my love for doing my hair, getting my nails done, and doing my make-up. Plus looking hot for your husband is always a plus! :]

3. I LOVE working out. While I don't enjoy the sweatiness that comes with it, and some days I lack the motivation of going to the gym, once I'm there I have so much motivation. The other day I was able to get an hour work out in and I LOVED it. I really hope to make this an almost daily occurrence in my life and keep it up. Eating healthy AND working out go hand in hand, and I need to keep doing both. Goal weight here I come.

4. I procrastinate WAY too much. I always plan my day and make to do lists but push items back and do other things. I am going to make a conscious effort to work on this and get AHEAD of schedule with things!

5. I LOVE to do crafts and projects. I wish I had more time to just craft the day away. In fact, sometimes I do so and then other things get pushed back. Once I work on not procrastinating, I'll have more time to do things I love (like crafting)!

6. I LOVE taking pictures. Sometimes I take so many that my hubby just stops smiling and ignores the camera, haha.

7. I HATE when restrooms don't offer you the sanitary seat covers. ESPECIALLY when I am in a hurry, haha. I take the time to layer toilet paper on the seat and just don't understand why nice facilities don't offer you that courtesy. I also try really hard not to touch door handles. I'll use my shirt sleeve or press the handicap button with my hip before resorting to touching the door with my hand.

8. I am going to school for elementary education but am still so unsure about what I want to do with my life. At this point I'm just going for the degree and will see where my life takes me. I want to be a stay at home mom most of all, but don't know if that will be plausible. I guess we have a while to figure that out since we aren't planning on having babies in our near future.

9.  I love to cook but don't do so enough. I really need to get in the habit of planning out our meals, especially so we eat more healthy. I'm still losing weight eating fast food, but we would be A LOT more healthy if we ate less of it.

10. I love planning events, dates, vacations, you name it. Since I already had a BEAUTIFUL wedding, I think of what other future events I can have. So, even without being pregnant I think about how my future baby showers will be and all that. Call me crazy, but I enjoy thinking of parties and the like. I also think about how many fun vacations Andrew and I can go on. We just got back from a fun weekend in California, and while we just relaxed, shopped (me), snowboarded (Andrew), and spent time with family, it was a GOOD get away. Unfortunately we only took pictures when we were leaving though, so here is one of both of us in the truck.

11. I LOVE decorating our house and always think of how I want to decorate each room. When we get more money, I'll put all these plans into action. Some of my future wish list items are: tile for our floors, new couches, dining chairs, etc.

12. I love fashion and can't wait to lose weight so I look good in the clothes I'd like to wear! I recently bought a dress for motivation and can't wait until it fits right!

13. I love reality TV shows and wish I had TIVO so I could watch more of them. I guess I'm better off without it, haha.

14. I LOVE teaching primary and probably learn more from the kids than I teach them. They have such strong testimonies and I am so grateful that I am able to teach them each week. I can't wait to have our own kids and watch them as they grow up and gain a testimony of the gospel. I am so grateful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and love that my testimony has grown so much in the last couple of years. I also hope to go to the temple more, do FHE more, and just get in the habit of reading scriptures together with Andrew. We aren't perfect at those things, but with time we will do better and our testimonies will grow more with each day.

15. I am definitely a family person and love spending time with my family as much as possible. I look forward to having my own family some day and know Andrew will be a WONDERFUL dad. :]

Things I am LOVING

In the spirit of February and Valentine's Day, here are some things I am loving right about now:

-ANDREW LAWRENCE and BEING MARRIED TO THE LOVE OF MY LIFE FOR A YEAR.

-DATE NIGHT.

-LOSING WEIGHT: I can't believe I let myself gain so much weight and I am definitely happy I'm getting back on track. I should have never let myself go. Ugh. Here is a picture from high school when I HATED how much I weighed:

This was senior year on twin day, and while I love Giules, I hate this picture, haha. I guess it is more motivation to lose weight. ESPECIALLY because a few months after this was taken, I joined Weight Watchers and eventually looked like this:

And I still was self conscious in this picture. WHAT was I thinking? I looked good, haha. NOW after getting married, I let myself gain a ton of weight (bad mistake) and I am back to square one. This time, however it's staying off. Goodbye married weight:

This will be the last time you see me at this weight! I've already lost 5 pounds and am going to Weight Watchers with TONS of motivation.

-WORKING OUT: I started a dance class with my sister and it is SO fun. While I do realize how out of shape I am because of it, I love it so far and am getting my groove on, haha. I also am going to the gym more which I enjoy.

-My puppies

-Getting my nails done!

-Working on our house with my hubby.

-Painting furniture.

-Getting flowers.

-Valentine's decorations.

-My new blog background.

-And updating my blog.

What are you loving?

Date of the Month Club

I decided it would be fun to get together with other friends and have a 'Date of the Month Club.' This month I attempted to plan a Battle of the Sexes Date and while nothing but dinner went as planned, it still was a fun night.

After going to my nephew's 3rd birthday party and watching him bowl (so cute) we headed to our date.

We went to Chili's and had a good dinner, then tried to go wacky bowling at Wildfire, but they were closed. So instead we headed to the Larsen's after buying supplies for dessert and played a few games and ate sundaes. The girls were leading by more than 20 points, when the boys wanted to do "winner takes all." Luckily for them, the girls agreed and they BARELY won in a creation game where you build items with legos and people have to guess what you are building. The winning creation was "pig" and by sure luck the boys won the whole competition. With winning, they won medals, candy, and their significant others have to plan a date for them for $20 TOTAL. No more, no less. We have to report back next month at our date and tell each other what we did for our date. Overall I think it was a fun night. Here are some pictures from the date:

 After dinner :]

 The Winners!
 Sam and Erin.
 Bart and Brooke.
 Dougie and Melissa.
 Peter and Kassie.
 Giulia and David.
 Andrew and I. <3
 The Girls.
AKA the Losers. Haha.

I'm excited for next month's date and already have it planned. The theme is way fun and I know my plans won't get messed up like this time. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.

Do you have any fun date ideas? :]

Little Miss Crafty

After getting a Cricut for Christmas, I've been able to do a few more crafts lately. Here are some that I've done:

I saw this idea on Brown Paper Packages and love it! I need to finish it for the rest of the months, but I'm loving it so far.

:]

Valentine's Silhouettes.

I saw these cute frames on Tatertots and Jello and had to recreate them. LOVE them.

I also took an art class last semester and here are some of my drawings!

I need to finish this, but so far I love it. Andrew and I based off one of our engagements.

My art class wasn't what I thought it would be, but at least I got some cool drawings out of it. Do you like to craft or draw?

HAPPY NEW YEAR and ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

Getting married on January 2nd means Andrew and I get to spoil each other a lot all within a 2 week period. :] After a wonderful Christmas, we looked forward to celebrating New Years together. We went to dinner and then went to our friend Brooke's house for games and to watch the fireworks. It was definitely a good night.

On January 1st, we started the year off right by sleeping in and going shopping. Andrew's mom came with us and we shopped for my anniversary present, aka a BEAUTIFUL anniversary band.

Please ignore my awkward hands, haha.
I absolutely LOVE IT. He did a good job and always spoils me. We also got some new pillows for our couch   which Andrew's Mom helped us buy and went to dinner at Lucille's. After dinner we went and watched the fights at my parents' house and just had a good night.

On our ACTUAL anniversary, we woke up and went to breakfast in Boulder then went to church. This anniversary it was my turn to plan so after church we went to the Shark Reef. Andrew LOVES scuba diving so I thought he might enjoy himself. While it WAS interesting, Andrew still says I need to learn how to scuba dive so I guess I'll have to do that someday haha. Here are some highlights:

 Andrew and the sting rays.
These were SO creepy to touch.
 CREEEEEPY jelly fish.

 Me and my honey!
 Octopus!
Happy 1 Year Anniversary! :]

After the Shark Reef we went to Outback for dinner and then to The Island for dessert. It was a good night and I loved just spending time with my hubby. Unfortunately Andrew hates hotels, so that wasn't in our plan, but maybe I can convince him we need to stay at one for Valentine's Day. ;]

We forgot to eat our Wedding Cake the day of our anniversary so we ate it the next day instead. Surprisingly it wasn't as bad as I thought it would taste and it was fun to participate in the wedding cake tradition together and remember our wedding day!

I can't believe I've been married for exactly 1 year and one month (today) and that time passed so fast. I love Andrew with all my heart and am so grateful to have him in my life. He works hard each day to support our family and let's me know how much he loves me each day. Of course we had little fights over the past year, but they only made us stronger. In church last week we had a speaker who talked about how the first year of marriage is often the hardest because you are getting used to each other and making decisions together about how you want your life together to be. I am so grateful for this year and our chance to learn and grow together. People still look at me crazy when they find out I am married and am only 20, but they don't know how much I love Andrew. They don't know that the day I met him I was already in love with him. I know Heavenly Father brought him into my life when he did for a reason. I know we could have met any time before we did, but we didn't because we were meant to meet in December of 2008. I was meant to go to FHE when I came home for Spring Break and we were meant to hangout that night. We have been together ever since that night and officially together since March 12, 2009. These past two years have been amazing and I am so blessed to have Andrew in my life. A man who loves me for me and truly wants the best for me. He helps me when I'm in need, supports me in all that I do, puts up with my crazy ideas, tells me I'm beautiful, buys me flowers, works hard each day, and is just the best husband I could ever ask for.

Thank you Andrew for being the best thing that's ever happened to me. Thanks for loving me each and every day and sharing this life with me. I can't wait to spend eternity with you and start a family with you some day. I truly am blessed and wouldn't change a thing. I love you.

Babysitting...My Long Lost Joy

I used to love babysitting when I was younger. Good money for watching kids...who wouldn't love it? I wish I could do that more often now, but I don't think married girls are on the top of people's babysitters list. However, I do get to watch my nephew and niece from time to time and who WOULDN'T love watching the CUTEST babies ever?

 Police man...just like his Daddy.
 BFFs! <3

Whoopsies. Auntie Kayla should have washed his face off before this picture, haha.

 3. POOR baby Payton! :[
Jackson is a GREAT photographer and LOVES taking pictures. He always says "Let me see," after he takes them too. :]

Needless to say, I am so lucky to have such amazing family. AND I get to babysit my cousin's daughter on Tuesday nights now too. Who can complain? :]
