chubsters

Tonight we went to NEWLYWED NIGHT at Bishop Waltons house and had a lot of fun. We ate dinner and talked and it was just nice to catch up with some other couples and the Bishopric. I truly miss the Singles Ward and the Bishopric. They always make you feel so comfortable and welcome and are just great church leaders. I'm SO GLAD we decided to go.

IN OTHER NEWS:

Since I'm a fat lard after being married to the love of my life and am gaining "the married million" (hahaha) I've decided to start a strict diet and exercise program and start doing weight watchers again SO I can look like THIS or better:

I plan on going to the gym twice a day (if my schedule permits it), try to do the Pussycat Doll workout video (which I don't recommend to ANYONE because of the wack jobs in it, but bought it so I have to do it), doing at least one drop in water aerobics class a week, and taking DAISY for a walk each day. Going to the Weight Watchers Meetings starts a week from today, and for the time being I'm watching what I eat.

I'm hoping Andrew can start coming with me again how we used to for 1 hour a night, and then after we get to our goal weight I'll limit my routine to just the one hour with Andrew and eating right.

I can't stand gaining weight back that I worked so hard to get off in high school, so this has to work and I need to get healthy, but this time for life.

WISH ME LUCK! :]

SUMMER LOVIN'

I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER that it's summer time. I absolutely love not having to worry about college or homework (aside from how I'm going to afford it this fall), and enjoy being a wife. Finals are over and I ended up with MUCH better grades than I thought, including three B's and 2 A's. HOLLA! This is really good in my opinion, especially since 3 of my finals were taken in a hotel room in Logan, Utah where we went to support my Brother-in-law graduating from college. It was a fun 4 day trip and we got to go to Lagoon for Mother's Day. Unfortunately, my mom took all the pictures, so I'll have to post some of those later. The only pictures I DO have are from Danny Glover speaking at USU's graduation and AN AMAZING rainbow Andrew and I saw on the way home:

In other news, we've been married 4 months and with school, work, and everything else going on we haven't had a chance to get our house all put together yet. I hate having so much to do on the house and can't wait to have all our rooms put together so we can have tons of fun parties and get togethers. :] Luckily, now that it's summer, this is now a possibility. Today I spent all day doing laundry and putting stuff away and I'm happy to say I put a slight dent in the work to be done. ALSO with school being over with I've had the chance to cook dinner every night this week. Not only is this good for our wallets, but hopefully it will be good for our health as well. Andrew and I have both gained some married weight and look forward to working it all off.

Our only other issues are, a DANG OVEN that chooses when it wants to heat up. If only we had money for a new electric oven. My dang "t" on the keyboard chooses when it wants to work as well, making it hard to post blogs. Also, my cousin who is only a month older than me is getting married when we are going to be in Costa Rica, so we won't be able to be there for her. She's going through the temple when we'll be gone too so basically, the only thing I could be involved with was her Bridal Shower. I organized one of the games with an idea my cousin had (which was a hit if I do say so myself), and made her the traditional bridal shower hat. The game involved memorizing all the items in the apron and I had a cute saying for each item included.

OH! I almost forgot to mention: Andrew and I get the pleasure of speaking in church this Sunday. I hope we do a good job and hope our familias are able to make it. Other than that, I'm just a primary teacher for CTR 7, work almost 40 hours a week, and had an interview for a promotion. Andrew works over 40 hours a week, works on our house, and is one of the priest leaders at church. At home we get to spend time with our adorable little puppy and give her baths.

She does a lot of cute things, including some tricks, but I can only prove what we have on video:

That's all for now. Since I have work at 4:45AM I better get going. GOOD NIGHT! :]

NO MORE FINALS....I WISH!

Since I am sitting at school waiting for my final to start in an hour, and because I already did my paper, which I thought was going to be a week late, but instead is actually due today (mini victory for me) and I have nothing to do, I decided I would update my blog.

On April 18th I turned the big 2-0 and am now no longer considered a teenager. While I feel kind of down about that, almost everyday at work I have people ask me how old I am and tell me I look really young, so I guess I should be happy about that. Anyways, my birthday was celebrated  4 days in a row and I ABSOLUTELY loved it, even if Andrew might not have. Friday night (the 16th) I went out to dinner with the Lawrence side of the family. We went to Coyotes and it was SOOOO yummy. They spoiled me of course and I got a really cute Betsey Johnson purse, some sun dresses, a really cute Invicta watch, a gift card to Charlotte Russe, some Tapout cups, and some computer accessories. The workers also sang to me and fed me ice cream. While that part was kind of awkward it was still a fun night.

The next day on Saturday (the 17th) Andrew and I slept in and then went to lunch at Red Robin...yummmm! We then made the trek to Stateline to ride the roller coasters and then go shopping. The rides were SO FUN (besides the gun/boat ride not working) and the roller coaster was freaking SCARY!
After the rides, Andrew took me shopping but I of course didn't find anything I liked. We even went to town square, but I only found a really cute shirt. After the shopping adventure wasn't as successful as I would have liked we went to Olive Garden for dinner and then went home.

On SUNDAY MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY we went to church where I taught primary for the first time (even though I wasn't supposed to teach that week). The kids were kind of bad and when they found out it was my birthday one of the girls was like "you should have told us, we would have been gooder." It was so cute, but I didn't have anything for them to celebrate my birthday so I simply didn't tell them. They had to find out in sharing time, but oh well. After church Andrew and I took a long deserved nap after all the fire drama. After we woke up he took me shopping AGAIN where I didn't find much. Then we decided to go to Chili's because that's what we did for my 19th birthday when Andrew came to visit me in Logan. He is such a sweetheart and I loved that he thought of that idea. Finally on MONDAY the 19th of April we celebrated with my side of the familia by going to Claim Jumpers! It was good to spend time with the family and I'm so thankful everyone celebrated with me and the presents were a plus too ;]. OH! And on that WEDNESDAY I got to see Stephy when she took me to get pedicures. Then we went to Olive Garden and saw Kierstin and Leanna where Kierstin bought me dinner.

I guess turning 20 isn't so bad, especially since I got spoiled so much! :]

Now that the birthday celebrations are over I'm just focusing on the last week of school. This semester was not so good for me and I realized that online classes and night classes are not for me. Next semester I'm going to work MUCH harder and I'm even taking two classes with Stephy! Yippee! I just realize that after being married, school was the LAST thing I wanted to focus on, but maybe next semester will be better. I definitely need to get my major switched and start taking the right classes so school doesn't last so long for me. I think I've finally decided to be a teacher. Also, maybe I'll go to hair school some day and try that out. My options are open and I realize it's better that way.

This summer I'm just going to work and try to have the BEST SUMMER EVER with my hubby. He truly is the best thing that's ever happened to me and always tries to make me happy. This week alone he's surprised me with a shirt and hand picked flowers from the dessert. He makes me dinner when I'm busy and just always tries to make my life easier. I'm so blessed to have such an amazing man in my life and can't wait to continue our journey.

ALSO: Hanging out with my ADORABLE nephew a lot wouldn't be a bad thing either this summer.

LOVE MY HUBBY. LOVE MY FAMILY. LOVE LIFE. HATE FINALS. GOODBYE! :]

No Fires Please!

So my life is pretty crazy right now, but I'll get to that in a moment, and will clarify my choice of "Title." For now, I will update you on my life since February. I always get on this site to read people's blogs, but when it comes to updating my own, I'm not too good.

Since February we've been working, and I've been going to school, basically just living life. When we aren't worn out from our long weeks, we attempt to work on the house. However, that often get's put on the back burner because we are just so tired. I wish that wasn't the case though since I want to have BBQs and have tons of parties, but with our house in the shape it is now, that won't be happening. In February we tried to have a fun day by going to Nascar, but when we showed up, we had no tickets at will call, so we basically drove out there for nothing. It was still an adventure though.

On March 12 we celebrated our 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY of when we started dating. I'm so lucky to have found the love of my life and can't wait to spend eternity with him. I found a really cute little red bowling ball made of foam stuff at Target and wrote all our significant dates from our relationship on it. I don't have any pictures but I thought it was cute since we first met at a bowling alley. We tried to go to dinner that night a Little Carmines, where we went on one of our first dates, but unfortunately they were shut down, so we went to Texas Roadhouse or something like that instead. It was a good night.

Also in March we made a trip to Meadview the weekend of the 20th. We just hungout and the boys went for dirtbike rides. On Saturday we got the guns out and shot our new toy, which we got as a wedding gift. My hubby is quite happy about that gift, haha.
In March my hubby surprised me with BEAUTIFUL Gerber Daisies, and we also went on dates every week of course. March was a pretty good month.

Now for APRIL! The month of my birthday. While this month started off by going really slow, I thought this month was going to be dreadful and drag on, but it is instead full of surprises! Of course Easter happened, which was pretty good! We just hung around the house, then went to Zack and Lindsay's for lunch and Mom and Pop's for dinner. We of course exchanged Easter Baskets and ate tons of good food. Easter was a good day and my puppy looked THE CUTEST! :]

Also in April we found out we are going to have a new NIECE! :] Zack and Lindsay are having a baby girl Payton in September and we couldn't be more excited. I got to go to the ultrasound and it was absolutely beautiful!:]
On April 10th we went to the Clark County Fair! I had never been before and it was really fun besides Andrew getting sick from the rides and me getting bruises from them. The rodeo was an absolute BLAST and I LOVED spending the day with my hubby, just me and him. I definitely want to go back in the future, just without the fried food!
We of course HAD to go on the Farris Wheel! It's tradition. Anyways, after that fun adventure, we just simply kept with the normal routine, until Wednesday night when I was on my way home from work. I was having a hard time getting ahold of Andrew and when he finally did answer he said something about his parents' house being on fire. I was mad cause I thought he was lying, but I drove straight there and sure enough there were fire trucks and cop cars EVERYWHERE! I started bawling right away and called Andrew and LUCKILY everyone was okay except we didn't know where Chica, their little dog, was. I had no idea what went on at first, but this is the story:
All the boys were at scouts and they called and had Michelle (my Mother-In-Law) come and bring some scout papers to them. When she left, the house was fine and she told the puppies she'd be right back. Kobe (their bigger dog) had been put outside because he had pooped in the house, but Chica was inside. When she was done dropping off the papers, she pulled up in the drive way but decided to not go inside because she knew she would fall asleep. Instead she went to the library to find a book she had been reading and spent about a half hour there. When she was almost done, DJ (my little brother-in-law) called her saying that the house was on fire, but she didn't believe him (who would?) just like I didn't believe Andrew. However, when she got home, sure enough it was the case. I guess when DJ skateboarded home from scouts, he went to open the door and when he did a TON of smoke came out. He couldn't even go in the house and he immediately started yelling "FIRE!" and thought Michelle was in the house. Two neighbor men RAN over and busted the backdoor down and started working against the flames. While this was happening, DJ called Andrew and Andrew literally SPED over. When he got there he busted through the front door and ran to their mom's room to make sure she wasn't home! The smoke was so thick I guess that he could barely breathe and ended up having to army crawl out of the house. Luckily Michelle wasn't in the house and everyone was safe. When they were trying to stop the fire, stupid cops (and no I don't hate cops, just one in particular is NASTY in BC) came and pulled their gun out on them practically and made them leave. That's when the fire department stepped in.
After all things were put out and the whole house was covered in smoke and water, I guess the kitchen is wiped out and a lot of things aren't salvagable. I guess Andrew found poor Chica under DJ's bed and their bird passed too. We hope they both were sleeping so it wasn't rough, but Michelle did not take her Chica Dog dying good at all. I'm happy that Michelle decided not to go in the house though, and now that was Heavenly Father watching over her. She probably would have been napping and slept through the fire or something. To say the least, the past few days have been HORRIBLE and right now they are staying at our house until they figure everything out. I'm really glad that we are able to have them stay with us so they feel more comfortable in their situation and that so many people are being so helpful.
One bright side to the situation, other than everyone being okay, is that Michelle has been trying to keep her mind off things so she helped me straighten up the kitchen. We got ALL our kitchen presents put away and we are just trying to make the house more livable and homey for our guests.

I guess we are just going to go on and try to take everything one step at a time. And I feel bad, but we are celebrating my birthday this weekend still. I knew I was not looking forward to my birthday for some reason, and this must have been it, aside from not being a teenager anymore too.
If anyone who even reads this could PLEASE keep my family in your thoughts and prayers I'd really appreciate it. I can't even imagine what they are going to have to go through to get everything back to "normal" again and we are just along for the ride. I hope you all are having a better April than we are. I enjoy reading blogs, so keep it up!

My Valentine's Day Weekend with My Forever Valentine!

So after I wrote my previous post, I went to bed at about 3 in the morning. THEN at about 7AM or so, my hubby tried to wake me up to go to Meadview. Needless to say I was VERY tired. After showering and putting on sweats, followed by getting ready for the trip, we finally left town at about 9AM. I slept pretty much the whole way, and finally we made it to Meadview. It was a good day and Pop's got to do all he wanted with his family present. I mainly worked on our budget, talking to Mom, and helped cook. It was a very relaxing day, and after the boys got home from their ride, Zach and Brooke came and we ate dinner and celebrated. It was a fun night of bonding, but Andrew had fallen asleep from being wiped out by his ride, so I ended up playing pool without him and talking to Brooke and Mom. It was good bonding time.

Instead of going home that night which was planned, we ended up sleeping on the couch, and boy did we SLEEEEEP. We slept in until like noon or something and it was absolutely WONDERFUL! A great way to start Valentine's day and much needed rest. We finally left Meadview at about 3 or so, and got back to Boulder at about 5. We opened presents from eachother, and of course Andrew brought me to tears with how amazing he is. He writes the best letters to me that make me realize how lucky I am. He also, aside from the flowers he surprised me with, got me some movie tickets (which we haven't used yet), a total car cleaning, and 500 Days of Summer (which we watched the night before Andrew proposed). I am so in love with my husband and I'm the luckiest girl in the world. Hopefully he feels the same about me. I got him Zombieland, Black Sheep, and Tommy Boy, his favorite Sweet and Salty bars, a picture frame that says "I love you" and of course my heart and lovin'. After we opened the gifts, Andrew worked on my car while I did some homework. He did a WONDERFUL job and it is SO clean. We finally got ready and went to Olive Garden at about 10 PM. We were going to go to a movie but we were so tired we just went home. Even though it wasn't EXTREMELY eventful, it was still the Best Valentine's Day I've ever had. I got to spend it with the love of my life and that is all I need to have a good day. I can't wait to spend many more Valentine's Days with my honey, and just experience life together.

After Valentine's Day of course we had to get back to the weekly grind of homework, and school. We are working hard and doing what we can to support eachother and even though we hardly get to see eachother, we are making it work and doing what needs to be done. In the future I look forward to having more time to be husband and wife, but for now we are enjoying the time we CAN spend together.

Right now I'm dreaming of vacations and pampering myself. Until we win the lottery, we'll instead keep saving what we can and i'll be dreaming of pedicures and massages. Maybe someday soon I'll be able to treat myself, and I'll keep planning wonderful vacations and weekend trips to eventually go on. I'm also planning and looking forward to being super hot for Costa Rica this summer, so I bought a weight vest I can't wait to use, bought the Pussy Cat Dolls workout video, and am starting to eat better. It's no bueno when married life has ALREADY got us gaining weight, so that is changing now. I just got to get back into the groove of Weight Watchers eating and everything will be PERFECT. My honey deserves a hott wife anyways. :]

For tonight though, I'm going to lay in bed with my handsome husband and fall asleep. Tomorrow is another day filled with Sweet Tomatoes for my Aunt's birthday, errands galore, working until 9:30, homework, and hopefully hanging out with Kierstin and Stephy. Oh yeah, and I need to clean the house. We will see what all gets done and how exhausted I am by the end of the day.

So that sums up my life this week, goodnight all.
